I cannot believe it. It is my blogiversary. I have been blogging for six years today! I have learned so much and gained so much from this experience.
This little blog of mine has grown so much and has had numerous different changes. It started as just a way to express what I was feeling…to a random, anonymous Internet audience. It was a way to allow my 19 year old self to let my imagination and inner child out. It started out as My Fairy Tale, and this was my very first post: Really? I really liked this one.
Then, it became Our Fairy Tale once I was engaged to Justin. His Story and Her Story were our first posts, and they described our love story. It wasn’t until 2013 that I really started to network. And, we took the leap and bought a domain name. Then, last year around this time, the blog had it’s last change to The Morrell Tale, with its current design and domain name.
I have loved using this blog to journal our lives, share my knowledge and experiences, testify of my faith, and review books I’ve read. I’ve said it numerous, numerous times that the best thing that I’ve gained from blogging is the friendship and community. Who knew there was such a loving, inspiring, uplifting group of people online? I have made so many friends, many of which are now friends in real life, and many that I would love to meet in real life.
I have also learned how to code, some graphic design, how to do pitch emails, how to work with businesses, different cheats and tips for different social media platforms, and how to improve my photography.
But, the biggest thing I’ve learned is about myself. It’s been hard blogging, because the jealousy monster has come out so many times. When other bloggers get neat sponsored opportunities, go on fun trips, have many more followers than me, grow exponentially faster than me, earn money on the blog they started less than a year ago, etc. However, I have recently become very content with my blog. I’m happy with the (non-existent) budget that I spend on it, my design, my slow, but steady growth. I’m just very content with my blog and my social media presence. I think one of the biggest things that has helped me with being content is that I am sharing more about my faith online. God has blessed me thoroughly with this blog. And I am so happy with everything this blog has given to me in life. I will never give up on this blog!
And, guess what! You guys have given me an awesome gift! My goal for the blog was to get 250 followers on Bloglovin by the end of the school year, and guess what! I reached that today! What an awesome birthday present! Thanks!
