How I Spent My 1st Day of Summer Vacation

I was going to do a lot today, but that didn’t happen.

was going to dress nicely, do my hair, and put on makeup.
I’m wearing jeans and t-shirt, hair up in a bun, with no makeup.

I was going to cut and freeze fruit, plan the week’s meals by looking through the recipe books I have, put away the washed dishes, and sweep.
I only cut and froze fruit.
I was going to do some indexing because I love doing it.
I spent about 5 minutes on it before I got bored.
I was going to organize and plan my summer schedule for getting unit plans ready to sell on my Teachers Pay Teachers shop (check it out, I already have some items up).
Then I decided I wanted to read.
Well, I grabbed my book and it’s sitting next to me, but that’s as close as I got.
I was going to take pictures of myself in my “lazy-day, I’m done teaching for the summer, and I don’t really look 8 months pregnant in this” outfit and do a post on “Confessions of a 8-Month Pregnant Woman.”
I decided to read old blog posts instead.
I was going to take a nap to rejuvenate myself.
I got distracted by funny youtube videos.
I was going to have a tasty, healthy tuna salad for lunch.
But, I’m hot and pregnant, so I had a bowl of icecream instead.
I was going to take a picture of me eating the icecream for this blog post to emphasize my point of being lazy on the first day of summer break.
And then, before I knew it, the icecream was eaten!
I will make dinner tonight for Justin and me–ravioli and veggies.
I will go on a walk down Center Street with Justin after dinner. I’ve been asking him to do so for weeks, as we are hopefully counting down the days until we move…hopefully there’ll be good news to share with y’all on Monday about our housing situation!
I will have the previously mentioned post for tomorrow after I take real pictures of myself.
I will get maternity pictures done next week, thanks to Brooke @ Silver Lining!
will go to the Utah Core Academy to improve my teaching skills, learn more about the Common Core, represent my school, and get points toward my level 2 license, but, I will only go to 1 instead of the 3 I signed up for.
I will do a lot this summer because I won’t have a part-time job for the first time in my life and if I don’t, I’ll go crazy.
But, I will also take everyone’s advice and RELAX since I am giving birth in 5 weeks. Hence, the reason I felt ok being lazy and eating icecream today.

  • I think you have every right to relax 🙂 I'm glad you had a good day!

  • HA! There are so many days when I think "I really need to do this, that and the other," and magically I get distracted and end up doing none of it. 🙂
Enjoy all the ice cream you want! 🙂

  • Sounds like a great way to start the summer to me!
