It’s the truth. They are! I am so lucky to have the best younger siblings ever!
I’m the oldest, and I can say that I haven’t always been the best of a sibling to them. I mean, you know, being the oldest means being bossy and relentless teasing. But, I have always been protective of my siblings. And, my siblings have always been there for me. They are also amazing in their own individual ways.
First of all, look how beautiful she is!
Madison is a very talented and smart woman. She is tutored someone in math (I think Calculus?) when she was in high school. She’s always been the type to say, “If a boy can do it, why can’t I?” She’s played soccer and field hockey. She ran track and cross country. She is an amazing actress and singer! I was so happy I could see two of her musicals she starred in high school. She is also great with hair–she did my hair for my engagement pictures. She is also a wonderful party planner–she planned my bridal shower and is planning my baby shower.
She is a great sister. She is always there for me (it helps that we live within a few miles of each other), and our other siblings. She has the opportunity of being a younger sibling and having me take care of her and being the older sibling and taking care of our baby sister.
Currently, she is working on submitting her papers to serve as a full-time missionary for the LDS Church.
Look at this stud!
Bobby’s birthday is 3 days after mine. As a little girl, I really wanted a little brother and prayed every night for one. He was brought home from the hospital during my birthday party, so he is my special present.
He is a complete genius!!! He is super smart and is taking a lot of AP/Dual Enrollment/Honors classes. He loves having academic and philosophical discussions.
He is also very athletic. You can’t tell, but Bobby was actually born with a club foot and, by the time he was 4, had numerous corrective casts and surgeries. But, he’s never let that slow him down. He’s been a wrestler, a soccer player, and a football player (until he popped his knee out!).
He is also very musical. He plays our Dad’s trumpet in Marching Band. He loves listening to orchestras and soundtracks, pointing out different techniques being used and analyzing different composer’s works.
He is also a huge geek like Justin and I. Bobby and I will always talk about fantasy books we’ve read, or geeky movies, and then he’ll spend hours upon hours talking with Justin about video games. Seriously–when we come to visit, Justin and Bobby go down to the basement and I don’t see either of them again until we leave! But, I’m so glad that they are so close now.
I have never known anyone to be as well-rounded and accomplished at such a young age as my baby sister, Paige!
Paige loves fashion. She has such cute outfits and her style is a perfect mix between Madison’s and mine. Paige taught me how to do a French twist with my bangs! We watch Project Runway together. She is also very talented with her hands and a sewing machine. Ever since elementary school, she’s been taking sewing classes and can sew and quilt, as well as other talents!
Paige is also an amazing cook. Her favorite channel is the Food Network. She takes cooking classes at school as well and makes delicious gourmet desserts for us! She is also quite the musician. She plays the flute and is gaining prestige in her level. She also cares a lot about her academics, just like the rest of us.
But, she is a very graceful athlete. Whereas the rest of us played sports with balls, or ran, Paige has played soccer, but her true love is in dancing an tumbling. She has been taking dance classes and private tumbling classes for two years now in the hopes that she could make the 9th grade cheer leading squad (she’ll be a 9th grader in the fall). Well, she finally was able to pass off the last tumbling trick she needed for try outs earlier this year, but then broke her elbow at a trampoline park. But, that didn’t stop her. She continued practicing splits and other tumbling, as well as dancing. She tried out for the cheer leading squad with her arm in a cast and made it! So, she is now a cheer leading, dancing, flute-playing, sewing, cooking academic!
When we all get together, it is chaos (but good chaos). We are loud, smiling, laughing, yelling, and there is a lot of slapstick between us (as you can tell my the pictures at the very top of the post). We can get on each others’ nerves sometimes, but spending time together is what we love to do. We are all very close.
As you can see, I have amazing smart and talented siblings. I am so glad that we all live in Utah so I can continue to see them grow up and continue to build my relationship with them.
So, my siblings are cooler than yours!
