Baby #2 Bumpdate | 38 Weeks

Baby #2 Bumpdate | 38 weeks.

It’s my last bumpdate! I’m getting induced on the 29th, if Evelyn doesn’t decide to come before than, which she may. I’m already a little dilated and effaced, and I’ve been having cramps and Braxton Hicks a lot the past week. We have finally finished deep scrubbing the apartment, all my nesting is done, Justin is finishing some projects, and our bags are packed. Aside from celebrating Christmas Day, we are ready for our daughter’s arrival.

Also, it shows how ready I am to be done with this pregnancy and how sore I’ve been with these pictures: quick, tripod pictures done indoors! Not the best quality, but it pretty much shows what I’ve been wearing recently (keeping both comfortable and a little stylish) and where I’m spending most of my time.

Baby #2 Bumpdate | 38 weeks.

Gender and Name | Evelyn Morgan — girl.

Size of Baby | Length of a leek…she is measuring average, and is head down!

Due Date | January 2, 2017…but, we are having her induced December 29, 2016.

Baby #2 Bumpdate | 38 weeks.

Weight Gain | I’m getting close to where I don’t want to be, but I don’t think I’ll hit that max weight, thankfully. I can’t weight to start getting rid of the weight…although I won’t be able to properly exercise until mid-February!

Clothing | Maternity leggings, maternity shirts, Justin’s shirts, oversized cardigans.

Sleep | I’m taking a nap almost every day. I’m so glad that Rhys is such a great nap taker (2-3 hours!). I hope that continues and at least one of Evelyn’s naps will match up with his so I can sleep too. At night, I have no idea how often I wake up–it’s a lot. Typically it’s to pee and rearrange myself to try to find a semi-comfortable position. Laying on my side is super painful in my pelvic region.

Baby #2 Bumpdate | 38 weeks.

Symptoms | Pelvic and round ligament pain like nothing else! I hate laying down on my side, although it’s the most comfortable way to sleep/lay down. I always have to have a pillow between my legs. Braxton Hicks and cramps a lot. Any day now…. And exhaustion like no other. If I “overdo it” (which to me, shouldn’t be considered overdoing it!!!), my lower back to my knees is in pain!

Food Cravings | Pepsi, donuts, cupcakes, chocolate, cereal.

Food Aversions | none really.

Baby #2 Bumpdate | 38 weeks.

Rhys | Rhys can say baby “day-dee” (he has an issue with his “d’s” and his “b’s” and knows Evie’s name. He points out babies in commercials. He’s (re)discovered the baby toys and is interested in them. He gives hugs and kisses to my stomach. The challenge right now is putting Rhys to bed. He’ll go through the bed time routine like a champ, then every 5 minutes or so for the next 45 minutes, he’ll open the door, pop his head out, and mutter to us until we make him get back in bed. I really hope this isn’t a long-lasting phase!

Baby #2 Bumpdate | 33 Weeks

Baby #2 33 week bumpdate

It’s been over a month since I last did a bumpdate! Since my last bumpdate at 28 weeks, we’ve had a mini baby shower hosted by Justin’s coworkers, got a ton of baby clothes for Evelyn, bought a mom car (2008 Mazda CX-9), and set up plane tickets for my family to come for New Years! We also set an induction date for Evelyn: December 29th. But, I’m hoping she’ll come before then. Her official due date is January 2, but we’d prefer if she came in 2016.

Baby #2 33 week bumpdate

Gender and Name | Evelyn Morgan — girl.

Size of Baby | Lettuce Head…we are pretty sure she’s gotten head down now!

Due Date | January 2, 2017…but, we are having her induced December 29, 2016.

Weight Gain | I don’t like the scale anymore. I have a ton  of purple stretch marks all over my belly and thighs. Blech.

Clothing | All maternity clothes. I love my Old Navy maternity leggings.

Baby #2 33 week bumpdate

Sleep | Sometimes I only get up once to go pee. But, more recently, it’s been waking up at 5:30 AM to go pee, then back to bed for another 30-90 minutes before Rhys gets up. I’m also only taking naps maybe 33-50% of the time.

Symptoms | Pelvic and round ligament pain like nothing else! I also pull my thigh muscles all the time. Sometimes, it’s super hard to even walk! I’ve also gotten a few headaches.

Food Cravings | Dessert. Pepsi. Donuts. McDonalds’ Egg McMuffins.

Food Aversions | none really.

Rhys | He is learning the difference between boys and girls. He knows that he and Justin are boys and Momma and Baby Evie are girls. He knows that the new clothes we are buying are for Baby Evie and are cute. Everytime there is a baby on a commercial, we try to explain to him, that’s a baby and we are going to have a baby soon. We tried potty training, hoping to only have one in diapers come New Years, but failed.

Baby #2 Bumpdate | 28 Weeks

Cute "non-maternity" maternity outfit: black maternity shirt from @OldNavy, non-maternity Maxi dress, and amethyst necklace from @happinessbtq

I am officially in the 3rd trimester! Hallelujah! I am already feeling finished with this pregnancy. Here, at 28 weeks, I am already as big as I was with Rhys during full-term! I am 3 pounds away from the weight I was right before I gave birth to him. I feel heavy, I look heavy, and I don’t like it. Mainly, I’m tired of the lower back pain and the round ligament pain. And the exhaustion. But, I absolutely cannot wait to hold a baby girl in my arms! I am so ready for those newborn cuddles and babbles and gassy smiles.

By the way, if you don’t care about the bumpdate stuff, go to the very end of the post…there is an option to get some adorable discounted jewelry!

Gender and Name | Girl: Evelyn Morgan Morrell (I’m fighting for Evie as a nickname pronounced “eevee”)

Size of Baby | Eggplant! And, a sideways one, too! She is transverse! Hopefully she’ll change positions in the next 10 weeks!

Due Date | January 2nd. Please oh please don’t come anywhere between the 24th-26th!

Weight Gain | 175 with clothes on. I was 178 when I gave birth to Rhys, so I’m almost at the heaviest I’ve ever been…and I still have 90 or so days! Most of the weight gain has gone to my thighs…which are huge! And, I’m actually getting stretch marks on them! Yuck! I can’t wait to start losing weight and vigorously working out once Evelyn is here!

Clothing | All maternity now, or maxi skirts and oversized shirts. My mom definitely spoiled me last week while she was here and got me some good, casual maternity clothes. Last time, I was teaching full-time and depended heavily on maxi skirts and dresses. But, that meant, I didn’t have any leisure maternity clothes this time. So, thanks, mom! I never knew you could be this comfy and confident while wearing clothing pregnant!

Sleep | Sometimes it takes forever for me to fall asleep because 1) I have to pee so many times as I’m just laying down, 2) my mind is still going 1000 mph, and 3) I can’t get comfortable with round ligament pain and baby girl kicks and kicks and kicks. I still wake up once or twice to go pee in the middle of the night.

Symptoms | Round ligament pain and back pain every day! I’m told it’s because of the transverse position that my baby girl is in. Sigh. I have energy again, but I just don’t want to move because of the pain. I love walking around the mall, but one lap just about does me in now. I’m also peeing all the time. When I let Rhys know that I have to go pee again, he laughs and says, “Mama!”, like, “again, mom? come on!”

Food Cravings | None really.

Food Aversions | Greasy food, like fast-food, doesn’t sound super appetizing.

Rhys | He knows where Baby Evelyn is, but he thinks she is just in “a” tummy. Sometimes I’ll ask him if she is in my tummy, and he’ll so “no, Rhys tummy” and point to his belly. It’s cute. He likes looking at her clothing. He’s peed in his training potty twice the past two weeks and we are going to officially seriously start training him in November.

I received this necklace from the Happiness Boutique in exchange for a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.*

I love everything about this outfit…the maxi skirt is not maternity, and it’s super long, which I like (although it keeps snagging on my boot heels!). I also absolutely love this amethyst necklace! Amethyst is my birthstone, and I think it happens to be the prettiest stone, too (not biased at all). I love getting amethyst jewelry and decorations, and when I saw this long necklace, I knew I needed to have it. I love having long necklaces, and I feel that when they have a pop of color, like this stone, they are their own kind of statement necklaces. Sometimes, I even decide my outfits based on what piece of “statement” jewelry I want to wear. It’s the perfect way to accessorize a limited wardrobe–which is why I typically buy solid colored tops and staples of a closet and neutral colors at that.

When I saw this necklace from The Happiness Boutique, I had have it! I love how long it is and how big the stone is! And the best part, they have a billion (well, not literally) necklaces to chose from, all different lengths and styles. They also have necklaces, rings, scarves, bracelets, and even some clothing. A lot are a bit more bohemian, which I absolutely love.

Right now, if you order, you could save 10% by using the coupon code themorrelltale on all orders over 19 Euros or $21 US dollars (they are European based, but honestly, the shipping is FAST–faster than some shops ship in the US!). until November 5th.

Also, they offer free shipping when you join their customer reward program, and you can currently enter their bi-monthly giveaway–I’m definitely entering…I’m definitely hooked on this boutique now and already have some earrings in my “shopping cart”!

Baby #2 Bumpdate | 24 Weeks

Baby #2 Evelyn. 23 weeks bumpdate.

Time seems to be slowing down, while still speeding up. The days seem to go by fast and it’s getting closer and closer to the New Year, but the weeks are going by slowly. It’s only been three weeks since I last posted a bumpdate and I am only 23 weeks, but I seem so much further along then that. Maybe it’s a combination of how big I look and feel and how hot it is–pretty much what it was like the last month or two of my first pregnancy!

Baby #2 Evelyn. 23 weeks bumpdate.

Gender and Name | Girl: Evelyn Morgan Morrell.

Size of Baby | Mango. But, Evelyn is measuring a bit on the big size and they’ve changed her due date!

Due Date | January 2nd…no longer January 5th-7th. Which means, I may have a New Year’s baby and it’s even more possible for a Christmas baby. I don’t want a Christmas baby. Stay in there Evelyn until after Christmas please!

Baby #2 Evelyn. 23 weeks bumpdate.

Weight Gain | 171 lbs with clothes…so I’m guessing around 169ish? This is getting to be the heaviest I’ve ever been. I think I was like 175ish right before Rhys was born.

Clothing | Maternity pants only. Thankfully, I have a lot more this year than I did last…but then again, I was mostly wearing skirts and dresses while teaching. For shirts, I’m wearing my loose fitting shirts, tanks and cardigans, boyfriend tees, and Justin’s actual t-shirts.

Baby #2 Evelyn. 23 weeks bumpdate.

Sleep | I wake up 1-3 times a night to go pee or to roll over (and go pee). I sleep in more. I used to get up right before Justin left for work, now, more often than not, I wake up when Rhys wakes me up.

Symptoms | I’ve been getting round ligament pain…it’s just about almost always there. Most of the time, it’s very slight pain and easily forgettable. However, sometimes, it’s gotten so bad that I couldn’t do anything but lay down and wince. I’ve also been getting exhausted a lot more easily.

Baby #2 Evelyn. 23 weeks bumpdate.

Food Cravings | Gummies! We bought a pack of 80+ Welch gummies from Costco about two weeks ago, and it’s been a terrible temptation I’ve given into numerous times a day.

Food Aversions | None really.

Baby #2 Evelyn. 23 weeks bumpdate.

Other | I love feeling Evelyn kick. She’s very strong and sometimes it makes me wonder how bad it’ll be the last few weeks!! I’m having to start pushing the seat belt under the bump to be comfortable in the car. I can’t lay on my stomach anymore and sometimes I crave that! Often, I suffer from some low self-confidence in how I look. I’m getting pudgy in places other than just my belly and I don’t like it…especially my chin and neck area. And, I’m getting a lot of acne this time whereas with Rhys, my skin was clearest it had been for years. I know that my body is working hard to give me a healthy daughter, and I’m so thankful for that, but my self-image has always been temperamental.

Rhys | Having a baby in Momma’s tummy is old news. He doesn’t care anymore. Haha. Although, he does love to take out the clothes and blankets we have stashed for Evelyn out of their drawers and reorganize them. He has successfully been weaned from a bottle and transitioned to a toddler bed. He successfully only has pacies during naptime and bedtime and is getting more aware of his bowel movements. I think that he will fully be a “preschooler” when Evelyn comes and be potty trained!

Baby #2 Bumpdate | 20 Weeks

Can you believe it? 20 weeks! I’m already half-way done with this pregnancy! And, again, so many people are doubting that I’m actually that pregnant!

20 weeks for baby #2

Gender | Girl! It’s a girl!

Name | Evelyn Morgan. If any of you take that name, I’ll hate you forever!

13925390_10155093574243332_6960304962303897811_n

Size of Baby | Banana

Clothing | I am avoiding wearing most of my shirts–they feel tight and show all the pudges and rolls I now have. I need more short sleeve loose shirts. I am half-way into my maternity pants. However, my non-maternity jeans are all getting just a tad uncomfortable to wear.

20 weeks for baby #2

Weight Gain | Four pounds since my last check up…so I’m around 168lbs. It’s understandable with the horrible eating habits I’ve been having this past month of moving and setting up house. But, I started working out again…very low intensity 20-minute workouts at home at least 3 times a week. I’m also going to be better about not eating out (which will help us financially) and being smarter about what I chose to eat.

Sleep | I’ve been getting up once or twice to go pee. However, this past week has been really hard since Rhys has woken up numerous times during the night and early in the morning. I hope we aren’t having another regression. And, earlier this week, I had a nightmare that I started to bleed again and was really close to losing my baby girl! It really upset me, because honestly, that is the biggest fear I have.

20 weeks for baby #2

Symptoms | Lots of aches and pains. I feel bigger and I feel slower and I feel heavier. Not necessarily heavier weight, but like something is weighing me down, like I’m exhausted. I’ve also had another wave of exhaustion and headaches.

Food Cravings | Pepsi. Cereal. Sandwiches with the works.

Food Aversions | Not really.

20 weeks for baby #2

Other | When the radiologist told me it was a girl, I was on cloud 9. I wanted a girl so badly I was resigned to it being a boy. I almost didn’t believe the radiologist! And seeing Evelyn on the screen during the ultrasound! Knowing that she’s measuring big (the opposite of Rhys), and that she has a long, strong spine. It just made my heart soar! She also loves moving and kicking already. There are sometimes that her kicks are just as powerful as Rhys’s was during my 3rd trimester! I (half) joke with Justin that that fact makes me a little nervous about the power of her kicks when I’m 37 weeks!

20 weeks for baby #2

Rhys | Rhys came with me to my appointment and when I pointed out his baby sister on the screen, he said “oooohhh.” We pointed out the baby’s head and he pointed to his head. We told him the name and her nickname “Eevee” (yes, like the Pokemon–we are geeks after all). Rhys said, “ee-ee”. He then pointed to himself, “eehs” and back at her, “ee-ee”. We went shopping for the Evelyn and got a few onesies. Rhys hugged them to himself and said, “eehs”. I told him, no, it wasn’t for him, it was for his baby sister. So, he hugged it, and scrunched his fists up to his mouth, which is his way of saying, “it’s so cute.” Then, he put the onesie on my tummy. He is so adorable! He’ll be a great brother!

Here is Evelyn’s 18 week update.
