Full on Friday | March 25

This week went by very quickly. I can’t believe it! The days are beginning to mold together. I mean, I can’t really even remember what happened last week! But, here’s to another Full on Friday!

Awesome

Rhys is just the light of my life right now. He is such a good boy and a trooper! I love playing with him, reading to him, watching movies with him, exploring with him, and running errands with him! He is such good boy!

The weather has been getting warmer, so Rhys has been enjoying playing outside in the backyard a whole lot more. I am so happy that my parents have a fenced-in backyard. I can put on his jacket, and let him run crazy outside with the dogs while I am reading inside, watching out the window.

I’m really enjoying reading Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Doesn’t Stop Talkingfor Bonnie’s bookclub this month. And, I am coming to grips that I truly, truly am an introvert.

Justin and I finished How I Met Your Mother for maybe the 4th or 5th time this week. And now we don’t know what to focus on, since our shows are done for the season.

I bought Rhys’s Easter outfit, and I LOOOVE it! We went to Target, and I found the fedora. They had matching outfits, but NONE in Rhys’s size. So, I bought the fedora, than went to Old Navy, H&M, Gap Baby, and Gymboree. Nothing really matched! But then, about to give up, I went to Crazy 8, and they had exactly what I wanted: a solid colored shirt that matched the fedora, a vest, a bowtie, and loafers that all matched! I was so happy for that small piece of grace! And, then the Easter stuff was half off and the entire store was on sale for $12.99 or less, and the only other customer in the store had an extra coupon! Blessings upon me! I am so stoked about this outfit! Rhys is going to be the most dapper little boy ever on Sunday!

Awkward

We have discovered that Rhys is afraid of the dark. He has a music machine that also lights up. It helps to put him to sleep, and if he wakes up in the middle of the night, he’ll quietly turn it back on and fall back asleep. However, when the batteries are dying, the music still plays, but it won’t light up. This happened last week, and he had such a hard time falling back asleep or even initially going to sleep until we began to leave his door open with the hall light on. We now have new batteries in his music machine, but we always reassure him and keep the hall light on.

I tried to make potato chip crusted fish last night, but the crust almost entirely fell off. #fail

I have been having more down days recently. Recovering from depression is hard, guys.

Spring in Utah is stupid. It’ll warm up very quickly, then snow, then be cold again. So, I’m not running a lot right now and it annoys me.

I failed in my sugar fast.

I didn’t really take any pictures of our normal, everyday lives the past two weeks…

Full on Friday | Feb 26

Let’s just say last week was crap. Let’s forget about it. And this week, it’s been hard to keep above water. But, there have been fun things that happened this week, and I’d like to focus on that!

New Hair!
I needed a change. I needed to be revitalized in myself. So, I got my hair cut! And, I looooooove it!

The Life of Bon’s Bookclub
This month, Bonnie’s Book Club focused on A Man Called Ove. I wasn’t initially interested in reading it, but I wanted to be able to participate in the IRL bookclub meeting. So, I tried to find it at two different county libraries and all the books were checked out and the hold lines were long! So, two days before the book club, I downloaded an e-book and read, read, read. I didn’t finish it before the meeting, but I was still able to discuss and I just had a lot of fun.

Free Zoo Day

Wednesday was the last free admission day for the zoo for the season. So, I went with Danica and her SIL and our kids. It was uber crowded, and we only had an hour, but Hogle Zoo in Salt Lake City is pretty small. Rhys loved meeting Danica’s daughter, Reese, and he loved seeing the animals, especially the lizards and turtles.

 Ward Playdate
A few moms in my church congregation (ward) gathered at the church for a playdate. We brought our kids bikes, scooters, and balls and let them play in the gym (like a basketball court). Rhys had so much fun playing with other kids, even if they were all 3 or older!
Sworkit
I saw this app on Shark Tank and immediately downloaded it! Sworkit is a new app for exercising at home without equipment. You can do stretching, cardio, strength training, or yoga and you can determine how long to do each workout. Trained physical trainers show you how to do each exercise and if you can’t do it, you can skip it. I love it! I could definitely feel the burn, and it’s nice to be able to work out when it is still cold outside!
CaseApp Custom Phone and Computer Cases
**I received a free product from CaseApp in exchange for a review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.**
I’ve never really been one for designed iPhone cases. I just typically bought a black inexpensive one. But, my friend, Shannon, had adorable cases for her phone and laptop of pictures she had taken herself! CaseApp is a great site for custom designs. On their site, you can create a texture or graphic design yourself. Or, you could create a collage or just simply upload a picture. It’s a super easy, super simple process. And, the result is great quality. This is my favorite picture of Rhys from our fall 2015 family pictures, so I wanted it for my case. I love being able to look at him anytime since I always have my phone with me. Rhys also thinks that the phone is his now, since his picture is on it. Haha!

You can get your own custom laptop skin or phone case with 20% using the code MORRELL20 for the next week! And, you have a chance to win a credit of $40 to their store!

Full on Friday 1/15

Because of the newsletter that I am going to begin, I will only be doing two of these Full on Friday posts a month from now on. I just have soooooooo many ideas, inspirations, and drafts to post that want every day possible! I’m already backlogged to mid-March! Can you believe that! I love being a SAHM and focusing on my blog. I never thought I’d have this many ideas to write about without working!

Life Lately
Our New Years was off to a crappy start. As you read, we were all sick with the cold virus and stomach flu during Christmas break. Well, I have still been sniffing and snorting and coughing out mucus these past two weeks. Blech! So, needless to say, I haven’t done to well on my resolution to finally get serious about working out each day and lose this darn baby weight I still have!

Rhys started nursery on Sunday! They were short on adults, so I decided to stay and help. Rhys loved all the toys there were to play with and all the kids his age. He did very well during snack time and listened to the cute lesson about Noah’s Ark. He scribbled a picture for me and participated in singing time. He loved it and was definitely worn out afterwards and went right down for a nap when we got home.

He loved eating Goldfish crackers…and he DIDN’T try taking someone else’s! AND he sat in his chair even AFTER he was done!
He loved playing with bubbles while parents were picking kids up.

We are beginning to slowly pack up our stuff and take inventory of what we will take with us to my parents’ basement vs what we will store away vs what we will give away.

We got another snow and Rhys has loved playing in it.

Justin and I have been slowly rewatching the Star Wars movies after seeing Episode VII during Christmas break. We have also been doing a lot of research into the canon and extended universe and have had a lot of nice conversations about it.

Grateful List

I am loving reading Psalms and relishing in the glory of our God.

I was brave and decided to use Justin as an example and talk to people I probably wouldn’t have otherwise talked to on the TRAX.

The two hour nap Rhys and I had together yesterday after he had a hard night.

Having a girls’ night out with a neighbor friend. We ended up talking for 3.5 hours!

In Case You Missed It

Rhys turned 18 months old! Holy cow!

Full on Friday 12/17

I can’t believe next week is Christmas! Holy cow, this whole year has gone by just super fast! I’m already planning for the new year.

Yes, my son makes a mess in my room, and no, I don’t ever make my bed.

Awesome Moments

1) We finished our Christmas shopping! Yaay!

2) Rhys is just an astounding boy. I love him so very much, and I can’t stop just wondering how lucky we are to have him as our son. He has been so well behaved this week, sleeping amazingly, eating well, and just being a super great kid!

3) Speaking of Rhys, he ate an entire Red Robin kids meal (mostly by himself), as well as an entire Chick-fil-a kids meal (mostly by himself) this week!

4) We got some a lot of beautiful white snow this week.

5) Justin and I found a new show to watch on Netflix to feed our Food Network cravings: Cutthroat Kitchen

Rhys loves bathtime. So, when I turned my back to get towels and soap, Rhys decided the tub was full enough and got himself in the tub.

Not so Awesome Moments

1) We got a lot of snow…on Monday, it took Justin 50 minutes to get to work. His usual commute is 10 minutes.

2) I had some sort of pinched nerve or something wrong with my back and neck. On Friday, I developed a sore knot in my neck. Saturday morning, I woke up with really bad pain in my neck. By Saturday night, it had extended half way down my back. Sunday morning, I couldn’t move my head and the bulk of the pain was in the center of my back between my shoulder blades. It kept reaching further and further. So, we left Rhys with my parents Sunday night after dinner, and went home. Monday, I stayed in bed, laying down most of the day, and when Justin came home, we went to the doctors. They said it was probably just inflamed from picking up Rhys/sleeping weird/ stretching weird/being a SAHM or some sort of combo. According to Doctor instructions, I’ve been on anti-inflammatories and muscle relaxants for the entire week. My upper back still aches a bit, but nowhere near as bad as last weekend.

Looking Forward To

1) Christmas, duh! Christmas with Justin’s parents. Christmas with Justin’s parents in Georgia!

2) The new year.

Around the Internet

Kate from Mrs. K talks really resonated with me on why she almost quit blogging but didn’t.

I have often found myself battling in the War on Misery that Rachel from The Random Writings of Rachel says we should avoid.

I’m glad that Jessica from Jessica Lynn Writes also sometimes has trouble with impatience and balancing blogging, kids, and other responsibilities.

How was your week?

Full on Friday 12/4

How is it already December?!?!?! Tonight we will be decorating for Christmas, so any tips on keeping toddlers away from trees will be greatly appreciated!

Awesome Moments
She Teaches Fearlessly has launched! I am so excited to share the Gospel with the world.
– We had Dunk’n Donuts on Monday and Taco Tuesday on Tuesday!
– I’ve won THREE giveaways this week: a book, ad space, and a Target gift card! All hail the Blogging Gods!

Grateful List
– I am grateful for a husband who takes good care of me and my son
– I am grateful that my parents live 40 minutes away and work only 10 minutes away
– I am grateful to be a part of She Teaches Fearlessly

Awkward Moment
– I haven’t been feeling well this week: super sluggish, no motivation or energy, headaches, super sleepy. Finally I started feeling better yesterday.
– I kinda sorta drove the car over a meridian trying to exit the Del Taco drive-thru since I was early to Taco Tuesday. The bottom of the car literally got stuck. I felt so stupid. Rhys had been asleep in the car for the past 30 minutes, but as soon as he heard the screeching, he woke right up. People going through the drive thru tried very carefully not to hit my car and kept asking if I needed help. The teenage workers at the next-door dry cleaning kept pointing and watching and taking pictures on their phones. My dad came over with his Jeep and towed my car off.

So, ya, pretty embarrassing! To negate that, I’ll share some of the family pictures we got before Bobby left on his mission.
