DIY Wrapping Paper Roll Bead Run

Today is another round of What Would You Do…With a Pinterest Pin! I have wanted for a long time to make different games and activities for Rhys. So, one day, Rhys was being fussy because I wouldn’t let him watch TV and he wasn’t interested in his toys. I remembered something I had seen on Pinterest. I decided to unroll some wrapping paper and make Rhys a DIY wrapping paper roll bead run.

I initially made one for him last week. I was a little hasty so I could engage him in it as soon as possible.

Very easy to make and a lot of fun for toddlers to play with and decorate.

Like I said, it was super hasty–it took me all of 15 minutes to make it. I even let Rhys decorate it with his colored pencils and stickers. He had so much fun playing with it, rolling beads down.

However, when I realized that this What Would You Do was coming up, I wanted to pay a little more attention to detail to make it a little more similar to the pinterest pin:

So, I pulled out my mom’s arts and crafts supplies and started over. Here are the supplies and directions you will need for your own

DIY WRAPPING PAPER ROLL BEAD RUN

Very easy to make and a lot of fun for toddlers to play with and decorate.

Supplies
1-2 rolls of wrapping paper
double sided tape
scissors
stapler
poster board
scrapbook paper
art supplies (paint, markers, crayons, stickers)

Directions

1) Let your child decorate the poster board. We used paints for Rhys–it was actually his first time painting and he loved it!

Very easy to make and a lot of fun for toddlers to play with and decorate.

2) As you let the paint dry, cut up the wrapping paper roll into different sized tubes. Use the double sided tape and wrap them up in the scrapbook paper.

Very easy to make and a lot of fun for toddlers to play with and decorate.

3) You will need to cut slit in either the edges or in the middle so that you can staple it into the poster board. You will have to test as you go–beads and marbles can go really fast, so you will have to test to see if they can go from tube to tube and not run off the course.

4) Let your toddlers have fun!
