Dear Evelyn Morgan,
You are growing up so fast. I can’t believe that you are almost a year old! Nothing really has happened in November. We did have Thanksgiving dinner with the sister missionaries. But, you only took a few bites of Daddy’s yams, then you were done. You are also starting to get some separation anxiety. But, you are still very social.
Weight | 19 pounds 6 ounces (52%)
Height | ??
Eat | You drink 3-4 bottles of 4-6 ounces a day. You still have a morning bottle and a bedtime bottle. You have either one or two bottles during the day around nap times. You are a very picky about food. You love fruit and veggie pouches. You don’t really enjoy meat at all. I wonder if it is a texture thing. Almost every meal is a battle of wills. None of the tricks that worked with Rhys really work with you.
Sleep | For the most part, you are sleeping through the night. About once or twice a week, you will wake up in the middle of the night. If you haven’t fallen asleep within a few minutes, we get you a bottle and you drink it in your crib. Sometimes, you’ll wake up right before 6 am, but we will keep you in your crib. You still take two naps during the day about an hour or more each. You go down pretty easily–sometimes, we’ll just put you in your crib before you are asleep and you’ll put yourself down.
Milestones | Movement: Evelyn is running all over the place. You know how to climb up stairs. You also figured out how to get off the couch all by yourself.
Communication: You can clap and say “Yaaay”. You can say “Mama”. I think you are starting to say “No.” I’m not sure though. But, you absolutely love babbling. We are easily able to differentiate between your different cries.
Playing: You absolutely love dolls. You get upset when people take your dolls away. You also always want to play with Rhys. When the carseat is in the house, you like to climb in it and rock yourself. Slides are your favorite thing on the playground. You love putting things in boxes and taking them back out.
Personality | You are still our happy, loving, cuddly little girl. However, in the past 90 days, you’ve suffered two ear infections, which has really affected your mood. You are also starting to get separation anxiety. Whenever I head toward the door, you have a panic attack.
- dolls and stuffed animals
- applesauce, cheerios, graham crackers
- baths and showers
- playing with Rhys
- people touching your face
- momma leaving you or not giving you attention
- ear infections
I don’t know what I’d do without you, baby girl. Your cuddles, smile, and laugh are all I need to have a good day. You are my sidekick, my girl friend. I hope it stays like that forever.
Love, Momma and Daddy.
