Dear Evelyn Morgan,
Time has started to slow down. You are barely three months. Most of March, I kept thinking you were already 3, working on 4 months! But, I don’t mind so much that time has slowed down, especially since your first month flew by in a second.
This month has been really good–I’ve enjoyed spending time with you (and your brother) so much. Every time I see you, I smile. You are the sunshine in our family (Rhys is the energy).
Weight: ?? (2 months: 9 lbs 7 oz)
Height: ?? (2 months: 23 inches)
Nicknames: Smiley Girl, Little One, Baby Girl.
Sleep | Nighttime: Evelyn, you go to bed between 7:30-8pm. You sleep until sometime between 2-4:30 am to eat! Then you typically wake up between 5:30-6:30, so we pull you in bed with us until around 7:30. You are no longer sleeping in your swing! You sleep cozily in your Moses basket put in your pack-n-play! Hurray!
Daytime: You take two 20-40 minute naps before noon. Then, you’ll have a bottle for lunch after I put Rhys down for his nap, and you’ll fall right asleep for about 3 hours (from 1-4) in your swing. Then, you’ll have about two 20 minute naps in the evening.
Milestones | Tummy Time: You don’t like tummy time…you can stand it for maybe 30 seconds, but then you start fussing and crying like we are torturing you! Poor girl! However, when are are willing to be pleasant on your tummy, you can fully lift your head up 90* and follow objects around. The past week, while on your back, you’ve been swinging to your side and pushing with your legs. You can turn your position 90* from how we placed you on your back. You’ve also been very close to rolling over onto your tummy many times. Yesterday, you DID! A few times! You have officially beaten your brother in rolling over both ways (although he has beaten you with inchworming).
Focusing and Tracking: You love watching us all over the place, especially Rhys. Whenever we FaceTime my parents, you always reach towards them. You will follow and reach for (and most of the time, grab) whatever we hold in front of your face. TV is also appealing to you…sadly. Sigh. Since you have a big brother that watches Nick Jr, you get TV time, too, although I don’t like it.
Communication: You love smiling–you are the smiliest baby ever! You also love talking to anyone who smiles at you. Two syllable coos with a “gh” sound are your favorite to make. You also razz a lot. It sounds like you have started to laugh, but it comes out groan or a growl. You also are starting to experiment with power and noise in your voice. When you want attention, you will give a loud, sharp noise, as if you are saying, “Hey! Pay attention to me!”
Hands and Legs: You are a pro at grabbing hanging toys or toys we put at arms length–although you always start crying if you accidentally hit yourself in the head with a toy. You love sucking on your fingers and fists. You have also discovered your feet and are now loving grabbing them and putting them in your mouth.
Personality | Seriously, no one smiles more than you. You also love to just be quiet and watch things happen in front of your. Your daddy said it best: “Rhys had places to go; Evelyn has places to see.” I’m thankful for that.

We are so proud of you. Evelyn, you have worked so hard with your bowel issues. With the formula Enfamil Reguline, you are now passing 1-3 bowel movements a day on your own! No more prune juice, Q-tips of Vaseline, Gripe water, Mylicone drops, or Miralax on a daily basis for you! Of course, there are still some days where you need a little help with pushing and we’ll give you 1/2 teaspoon of Miralax in one of your bottles every 3-4 days, but we are so proud of you!
You are certainly growing up and becoming a happy little girl. I love you so much my little ray of sunshine!
Love, Momma and Daddy
