Madison’s Bridal Shower

I’ve mentioned before that my sister, Madison, is getting married in mid-June. My baby sister (16 next week), is the maid of honor, and I am the matron of honor. So, we worked together to host her bridal shower. I decided to do all the graphic designs for the party and my sister was in charge of the rest.

I wanted really badly to create the invites, and I am so proud of how they turned out. I’ll be honest, I definitely fished for compliments from everyone. (The address and the phone number aren’t real on this copy.)

We decided to play a few games. The first one wasn’t really a game, but more of a keepsake for Madison and Dallin. We had little handouts that asked the guests to predict their future.

Also, shameless plug…if you want me to do any invites or prints for you, please send an email to with the subject line: graphic design!

Another game we played was the Shoe Game. Bride and Groom have one shoe from each other. They sit back to back and are asked a question…”who is…” then they hold up the shoe representing their answer. For example…”who was the first one to mention marriage?” Then, they would hold a shoe with who they think mentioned marriage first. It was very funny to see their answers…and we teased them a bunch.

The last game was “Guess the Romantic Movie”. We chose 10 of very popular romantic movies, whited out the titles, and inserted Madison and Dallin’s faces. Whoever guessed the most correctly won a prize.

We had the bridal shower at our Aunt and Uncle’s community club house. We served crepes, which was a big hit (especially with Rhys who wanted strawberries, bananas, chocolate, and whipped cream on his–a son after my own heart!). We met Dallin’s family and enjoyed the evening. They got a lot of good gifts, including a hand-made quilt from my mom. She had made one for Justin and I and decided that she wanted to make it a tradition for all of her kids.

I decided to play with the Creative setting on my camera, rather than use one of the preset ones…so I decided not to put any of the pictures in a photo editor to see how they came out. I love most of them! Also, I apologize that some of the pictures are lopsided…I tried to edit the originals on my dashboard and saved them, and in my media library, they are the correct way up, but they aren’t here…I can’t figure it out. Sorry!

What a perfect shower! I love the idea of the shoe game, I don’t think I’ve heard of or seen that one!
And, your invites turned out AMAZING!!

    • Thanks! I had so much fun doing all the graphic design!

  • You girls did such an amazing job! I love the way everything turned out. The invitations are SO pretty! I’ll definitely keep you in mind for invite designs. Those games look like a ton of fun, the movie one is right up my alley. I’m with Rhys on the crepes give me all those toppings!

    • Thank you so much, Jacie! Oh, there were so many crepes left over and I definitely pigged out on them!

  • Aww, looks like a fun day! I’ve never been to a bridal shower that included guys, but I’ve long thought that a combined shower with bride and groom would be really fun!

    • It was definitely interesting…and a little harder to come up with games/food/decorations that wouldn’t totally turn off the men and allow them to engage and participate, too.

  • Such a cute and fun shower!

    • Thanks! It definitely was!
