I thought this quote was hilarious! But it also shows why crazy people like me run in the morning.
Since I graduated high school, I would wake up, go running, workout, then have breakfast and get ready for the day.
Then I got married and wanted to cuddle in the morning. And I got hired as a teacher and had to be at school by 7:30 AM. No way was I going to get up earlier to go running. Especially in winter in Utah.
Today, however, was a day off since the end of the term was yesterday. I have already completed all my grades, so today is a “me” day. And I decided to have a morning run.
I love spring morning runs. The crisp air swimming around your ears and tingling the back of your throat. The cool breeze caressing your legs. The smell of life, of rebirth, or tranquility, of stretching for the first time and facing our hopes for the day. I love the cool bluish-green shade the world is in as it wakes up from the shadows and invites the sun-rays in. I love listening to the birds cheer me on with their twitters and seeing the world wake: seniors caring for their lawn, parents walking their kids to school, adults rushing off to work, toast and coffee still in hand. Everything seems so much more peaceful in the morning.
I can’t wait until summer where morning runs can once again become daily habit.
