Meet the Morrells

“There is a book inside us, written by the finger of God, through which we may read all things,”
John Baptista van Helmont

Welcome to The Morrell Tale! We’re happy you found our little space! I believe life is a story: it has chapters, it has climaxes, it has romance, action, adventure. I feel it is important to write our story as we live it so that others can know our tale. I mostly blog about my marriage, children, and just every day life and thoughts.

HI! I’m Tayler, the creator of The Morrell Tale. I am a Work At Home Mom currently, but I used to teach history and English to Junior High students. You can check out my teaching adventures here. I love learning and can’t wait until I can go back to school to get my Masters and PhD. I love being home with my two children, and I write about them all the time! Homemaking is becoming a hobby for me, and I absolutely love to cook! I am proudly Mormon and I love my Savior, Jesus Christ!

I’m a Pepsi and chocolate addict. Fall is my favorite season. I play volleyball and soccer and love to run. Reading and writing are my two favorite hobbies (fantasy and historical fiction are my favorite genres). I’m a complete geek–I love Marvel movies, videogames, anime, and Doctor Who. I’m obsessed with history,  the Welsh language and am obsessed with King Arthur. I have even traveled to Wales (click here for posts about Wales), and now I want to return to Great Britain and travel all over Europe!

Justin is the love of my life. He’s a volleyball-playing Pennsylvania boy who absolutely loves sports, especially BYU’s teams. He’s as obsessed with numbers and works as a Data Analyst, playing with stats, codes, and Excel spreadsheats all day. Justin is also a geek–that is one reason I fell in love with him. He’s an avid gamer, loving JRPG’s and Super Smash Bros. He also loves Marvel Comics and anime.

Justin is definitely a “social butterfly” (he’ll hate that I called him a butterfly). 😉 He’s very funny and can make everyone laugh. He’s also one of the nicest, most humble people I know. Everyone goes to him for advice or help because they know they can trust him. Justin loves to cook as well, but doesn’t believe in measuring or following recipes. He has a dream to open a food truck, and I honestly hope we can do that sometime. Click here to learn more about Justin.

Rhys Michael is our 2.5 year old son. He is very rambunctious and full of energy: he loves to run, explore, wrestle, and play outside. Rhys loves trains, trucks, Legos, and balls. He loves helping with chores and learning his numbers, letters, colors, and shapes. Although he has a speech delay, Rhys definitely communicates well. M&Ms are his favorite treat and he loves watching any Nick Jr. show.To read more about Rhys, click here.

DIY Easy peasy newborn photoshoot. No photography experience or professionalism necessary!

Evelyn Morgan is our Christmas baby. Read more about her here. She is our adorable daughter and is loved by all of us. She loves to coo and smile at her favorite people and has bright, alert eyes. We are so excited to watch her learn and grow.

We hope you enjoy your stay here at The Morrell Tale!

  1. Hi! I found you from Christine's giveaway – happy to follow along your journey. I'm a recent stay at home mom as well. I would love to learn Welsh – my family is Welsh and I've always wanted to go!

  2. Why I've never read your about me page, I know not. My dad was a Marine too!! Also, I didn't know you got married in the JR temple!! That temple is like my 'little home' temple. I love it so much and I'm just so sad that it's going to be closed for what feels like forever!!

  3. Hello from your Ornament Exchange partner! I can already tell that we will have lots in common. Our little boys sound very similar also. I know my Paw Patrol! Looking forward to reading more posts!
