I am officially in the 3rd trimester! Hallelujah! I am already feeling finished with this pregnancy. Here, at 28 weeks, I am already as big as I was with Rhys during full-term! I am 3 pounds away from the weight I was right before I gave birth to him. I feel heavy, I look heavy, and I don’t like it. Mainly, I’m tired of the lower back pain and the round ligament pain. And the exhaustion. But, I absolutely cannot wait to hold a baby girl in my arms! I am so ready for those newborn cuddles and babbles and gassy smiles.
By the way, if you don’t care about the bumpdate stuff, go to the very end of the post…there is an option to get some adorable discounted jewelry!
Gender and Name | Girl: Evelyn Morgan Morrell (I’m fighting for Evie as a nickname pronounced “eevee”)
Size of Baby | Eggplant! And, a sideways one, too! She is transverse! Hopefully she’ll change positions in the next 10 weeks!
Due Date | January 2nd. Please oh please don’t come anywhere between the 24th-26th!
Weight Gain | 175 with clothes on. I was 178 when I gave birth to Rhys, so I’m almost at the heaviest I’ve ever been…and I still have 90 or so days! Most of the weight gain has gone to my thighs…which are huge! And, I’m actually getting stretch marks on them! Yuck! I can’t wait to start losing weight and vigorously working out once Evelyn is here!
Clothing | All maternity now, or maxi skirts and oversized shirts. My mom definitely spoiled me last week while she was here and got me some good, casual maternity clothes. Last time, I was teaching full-time and depended heavily on maxi skirts and dresses. But, that meant, I didn’t have any leisure maternity clothes this time. So, thanks, mom! I never knew you could be this comfy and confident while wearing clothing pregnant!
Sleep | Sometimes it takes forever for me to fall asleep because 1) I have to pee so many times as I’m just laying down, 2) my mind is still going 1000 mph, and 3) I can’t get comfortable with round ligament pain and baby girl kicks and kicks and kicks. I still wake up once or twice to go pee in the middle of the night.
Symptoms | Round ligament pain and back pain every day! I’m told it’s because of the transverse position that my baby girl is in. Sigh. I have energy again, but I just don’t want to move because of the pain. I love walking around the mall, but one lap just about does me in now. I’m also peeing all the time. When I let Rhys know that I have to go pee again, he laughs and says, “Mama!”, like, “again, mom? come on!”
Food Cravings | None really.
Food Aversions | Greasy food, like fast-food, doesn’t sound super appetizing.
Rhys | He knows where Baby Evelyn is, but he thinks she is just in “a” tummy. Sometimes I’ll ask him if she is in my tummy, and he’ll so “no, Rhys tummy” and point to his belly. It’s cute. He likes looking at her clothing. He’s peed in his training potty twice the past two weeks and we are going to officially seriously start training him in November.
Here is Evelyn’s 24 week update
I love everything about this outfit…the maxi skirt is not maternity, and it’s super long, which I like (although it keeps snagging on my boot heels!). I also absolutely love this amethyst necklace! Amethyst is my birthstone, and I think it happens to be the prettiest stone, too (not biased at all). I love getting amethyst jewelry and decorations, and when I saw this long necklace, I knew I needed to have it. I love having long necklaces, and I feel that when they have a pop of color, like this stone, they are their own kind of statement necklaces. Sometimes, I even decide my outfits based on what piece of “statement” jewelry I want to wear. It’s the perfect way to accessorize a limited wardrobe–which is why I typically buy solid colored tops and staples of a closet and neutral colors at that.
When I saw this necklace from The Happiness Boutique, I had have it! I love how long it is and how big the stone is! And the best part, they have a billion (well, not literally) necklaces to chose from, all different lengths and styles. They also have necklaces, rings, scarves, bracelets, and even some clothing. A lot are a bit more bohemian, which I absolutely love.
Right now, if you order, you could save 10% by using the coupon code themorrelltale on all orders over 19 Euros or $21 US dollars (they are European based, but honestly, the shipping is FAST–faster than some shops ship in the US!). until November 5th.
Also, they offer free shipping when you join their customer reward program, and you can currently enter their bi-monthly giveaway–I’m definitely entering…I’m definitely hooked on this boutique now and already have some earrings in my “shopping cart”!
