Intentional November 2016 Goals

Intentional November goals.

Each month seems to go by faster and faster. I can’t believe it! I mean, only two more months until we meet little Evelyn! I blinked and October was gone. Will November go by just as fast?!?! We’ve also started potty training Rhys the past 5 days ago. We are still having a couple of accidents a day, but he’s learning and he loves trying to use his little potty and earning stickers. Cross your fingers that we can go accident free soon!

Intentional November goals.

How I did in October

Blogging & Work

4 pitches for collaborations | I did two pitches, but I applied to a lot of campaigns even though I wasn’t accepted to any. But, I’m putting myself out there!

Get all my history lesson plans I created when I taught history onto Teachers Pay Teachers | Done!

Prepare everything for my new Etsy shop I’ll be opening in November| Um, kind of put on hold. I still need to create a few more prints, and I’m waiting for my light box to arrive so I can take good quality pictures!

Earn at least $100 a week in freelancing/virtual assisting | Some weeks were better than others. But, I did my best applying to different jobs. However, this last week of October, I made bank!

Health

NO SNACKING AFTER RHYS GOES TO BED! | A-HAHAHAHA! I need to do better at this! I’m hating my thighs!

Work out 3 times a week for at least 20 minutes each. | I did about 50% of this. I need to get better again.

Marriage & Family

Let Rhys play outside 3 times a week | We did pretty good with this, but then we started potty training…

Do tot school with Rhys at least 3 times a week | I did pretty good at the beginning of the month, but not since then. We are only on “C”. I need to do better.

Go to the library’s story time at least 3 times a week | We went maybe twice this month.

Play video/board games with Justin at least 2 times a week | We did this maybe 75% of the time.

Have a NO SPEND month! | We did pretty good the first half of the month, then we bought Rhys a Halloween costume, had car issues (which we couldn’t avoid), ate out a few times (while dealing with car issues), and we all got a new book each.

Personal & Religious

Finish Rough Stone Rolling | DONE!

Study at least 3 chapters in Preach My Gospel | I’ve decided I’m gong to finish the Old Testament first…I have about 40 pages left.

Be more intentional with scripture reading and my prayers | I need to do better with this. I need to get up with Justin, before Rhys wakes up so I can actually focus.

Intentional October 2016 Goals

Intentional October 2016 goals.

It is my favorite month! October! Fall, orange, leaves, crisp winds, pumpkin, apple cider, hay rides, etc! I love autumn so much. And, we are finally beginning to get a respite in heat and humidity. It’s still in the low 80s every day, but it’s a little more rainy. I’m also glad it’s getting closer to the holidays. I love the last quarter of the year. Also, there are only 92 more days until Evelyn’s due date! Woohoo!

September was a bit of a roller coaster with this pregnancy. Nothing dramatic or dangerous, but it was definitely hard. We definitely ate out a lot and I had a bunch of down days. This PPD/anxiety  affecting my pregnancy really is killer.

Intentional October 2016 goals.

How I Did In September

Blogging & Work

Vamp up content posts | Meh. Didn’t really do much content-wise.

Network better and engage in friendships. | Meh. Didn’t really do that either.

Update my pages and media kit. | Done! Didn’t really do much except update my media kit and work with me page.

Send out 3 inquiries/proposals. | Done! Had negative/no responses to all three, but at least I put myself out there!

Get ahead of blogging schedule. | Nope.

Create a balanced schedule/routine for blogging and virtual assisting/freelancing so I don’t feel overwhelmed. | Still working on it, but I’m getting a bit better.

Health

No snacking after Rhys goes to bed. | Total fail! I also put on a few pounds this month…I really need to work on it again!

Workout 3 times a week for 20 minutes a day. | I was about 50% good with this. But, I also did go on a few long walks with strollers.

Marriage & Family

Game night with Justin twice a week. | About 50% with this…about two weeks ago, I pulled out a few Wii games to play with Rhys during the day, like Wii sports and Mario. Then, Justin and I really got into playing the Wii version of Mario World again. Rhys loves watching us. He says, “let’s go” like Mario, and gets all of us (including him) a Wii-mote. It’s so fun to do as a family. We can’t wait until Rhys can actually play with us!

Stick to meal planning schedule for dinners. | About 75% successful in this. We did try 2 new recipes.

Let Rhys have at least 30 minutes outside or in a big play area at least three times a week. | We are getting better at this, especially since the weather is getting cooler. And, I’ve had the car quite a few times this month.

Personal & Religious

Go to all three hours of church all month again! | Success…except for the last Sunday in September…the last Saturday, we went to 6 Flags, and I must have overdone it as a pregnant, because I could barely even get out of bed that Sunday. But, I did read scriptures, devotionals, and watched the Women’s Session of General Conference to keep it a spiritual day.

Be more intentional with personal scripture reading each day. | I have been reading scriptures, but I need to still be better about being intentional and getting up before Rhys to not get distracted by Disney Jr or Nick Jr shows.

Finish Rough Stone Rolling (the only book I’m working on reading this month–it’s a big one). | I’m about 3/5’s done with the book.

Come up with and plan idea for the Morrell family Christmas ornament exchange. | I have a few ideas, but I haven’t settled on one yet.

Intentional September Goals

Making goals at the beginning of each month can help you to center yourself and be intentional for the entire month. These are my intentional goals for September.

It’s Fall! I know, I know. Technically, it’s not. But, it is September, and to me, the beginning of September = the beginning of fall. A lot has happened in August, and I’m glad for some continual routine and bettering myself. I’ve gotten the house completely set up, except for the storage closet, which we will tackle this weekend. Rhys and I have gotten into a pretty good routine of little TV, lots of playing and reading, some outdoor time, and some freelance/virtual assisting work for me…with only one day a week of having the TV be the babysitter! I’ve also gone to all three hours of church every Sunday this month, and it feel absolutely great! I can’t wait for things to just continue to improve this month!

Making goals at the beginning of each month can help you to center yourself and be intentional for the entire month. These are my intentional goals for September.

How I Did in August

Blogging

Blog two times a week. | Success! Most weeks had three posts.

Do at least two things a week to improve/edit/update different aspects of my blog. | No. I was a little thrown off by the growth of my freelance/virtual assisting clientele to focus on my own blog.

Work at least 5 hours doing Virtual Assisting. | Success for each week (I’m including freelance writing)!

Put out more inquiries and proposals for collaboration, guest posting, and sponsored opportunities. | Again, I didn’t get a good balance of my work vs. paid work, so this was a fail.

Health

Exercise at least three days a week for at least 20 minutes. | I did pretty well at this the first half of the month. But, I did work out at least one day each week.

No soda on weekdays. | I did ok on this…There were a few weeks where I gave in once during the week, but I definitely decreased my Pepsi intake.

Increase intake of water. | I have kept a water bottle with me at all times.

Family & Marriage

Do something loving for Justin every day. | I was very successful the first half of the month, but started to lag behind the second half of the month.

Spend intentional time with Rhys every day. | I was about 75% successful in this. There were some days were I worked hard to catch up on all my responsibilities and had Rhys occupy himself, but there were other days where no electronics were on and I gave the full day to Rhys.

Personal

Find more opportunities to be a WAHM. | Success! I now have 1 very good, reliable, continual freelance article writing gig, and two virtual assisting gigs! (I just hope I don’t overdo it!)

Write in my journal at least once a week. | Success! Since Rhys has done so well in nursery, I have been able to write in my journal on Sundays during the 2nd and 3rd hour and be very detailed!

Try to keep the house clean every day. | I’d like to say about an 85% success rate! Having only a 750 square foot apartment really helps!

Intentional August Goals

We are entering into the 8th month of the year. What are your intentional goals?

How is it August already?!?! Seriously! It seems like just two weeks ago I was setting up my goals for July. It was definitely a busy month and I really needed to re-evaluate my year. So, I feel like I am really going to rock this month!

We are entering into the 8th month of the year. What are your intentional goals?

How I did in July

Blogging

Blog at least twice a week. | Success! I now have a lot of ideas for the blog and I can’t wait to write them!

Work at least 5 hours a week doing Virtual Assisting. | No. But, at least an hour a week. Ha. I have been putting out feelers and I think I found a second client to do Virtual Assisting for!

Health

Exercise at least 3 days a week for at least 20 minutes. | No. This didn’t happen. But, I did “workout” a lot…moving, unpacking, scrubbing, swimming, walking around the mall.

Make healthy choices with food and portions. | At the beginning of the month, I did. But, once I moved, then, we ate a lot of junk, soda, and take-out.

Family & Marriage

Enjoy the last bit of time with my family before moving to Texas. | I did. And, I already miss them!

Move to Texas and get our apartment set up. | Well, it’s about 80% done. I really just need to organize shelves and hang pictures.

Give Rhys at least 30 minutes of my complete attention, electronic free, every day. | I was half-way successful with this. But, I will be better!

Personal

Read scriptures every day. | For the most part, I was successful with this–either reading scriptures, Mormon theological books, or daily devotionals.

Finish at least two books. | Began, read, and finished four books!

Intentional June Goals

Intentional June goals. The year is half-way done, and we need to review and refocus on 2016's mission.

Being intentional during the month of May totally went down the drain. Really, doing anything during the month of May went down the drain. We have been on a roller coaster with our emotional, mental, and physical health this past month. But, we are finally pulling out of the fog. I am really hoping that June has some sunshine for our life.

Intentional June goals. The year is half-way done, and we need to review and refocus on 2016's mission.

How I Did In May

Blog

Update SEO, images, links, and Pins for at least 5 posts per week. | This didn’t happen. I didn’t even attempt to do this.

Go through my blogging resources and ebooks I’ve accumulated. | Didn’t even touch any of them.

Redo my “hire me” page to include RunPinkRunHappy’s design I created and the one I’m working on now. | Nope. Didn’t happen.

Try out a free trial of Adobe InDesign and see if it might be worth the money for the subscription. | Haha. I did download the free month trial, but I never even opened the program.

Health

Exercise for at least 30 minutes for at least 5 days a week. | I did pretty well on this….I didn’t achieve the goal, but I did workout at least twice a week.

Get 10,000 steps every day on Fitbit. | I didn’t even put on my Fitbit at all this month.

Lessen amount of carbs and dairy I eat (as well as treats). | I did well on this for the first two weeks of May, then all went down the drain.

Family and Marriage

Do whatever the future bride asks of me, and help my teenage sister (the maid of honor) host a bridal shower (I am “matron of honor” since I am married and a mom). | There were lots of opinions about the bridal shower, but it all came together and it was beautiful. I will have pictures of it tomorrow or Friday!

Go on a family walk with Rhys and Justin at least twice a week. | This didn’t happen. However, I did go on a hiking trail with Rhys once while Justin went to the driving range to play golf.

Make Justin either breakfast or pack him a lunch every weekday. | This didn’t happen for multiple reasons.

Personal

Read an LDS doctrinal article (General Conference or from the Church magazine, The Ensign) twice a week. | This didn’t happen, and to be honest…I sort of stalled on my independent scripture study…Rhys kept waking up earlier and earlier and I’m in Jeremiah and I really don’t like his attitude of doom and gloom and hatred.

Try to remember to do personal prayers at least three times a week. | I did really well with this! Yaay! But, only for evening prayers…not in the morning. I really got to get better at that.

Pay attention, participate, take notes during Church every week (and attend Church every week). | I wasn’t at church every week, but when I was, I tried my best, especially now that I am in a youth leader in my church (Laurels advisor)…and Justin and I both gave talks (“sermons” of a sort) one Sunday.

So, as you can see…I basically failed all of my goals. But, everyone is allowed to have a crappy month. And again, all will be revealed in the future as to why this month was crappy.

June 2016 Intentional Goals

Blogging

  • Post at least twice a week…I barely posted at all in May, and I’m going to ease myself back into it.
  • Update SEO, images, links, and Pins for at least 5 posts per week.
  • Update my “Hire Me” page.
  • Get caught up on reading blogs….holy moly…you should see my Bloglovin feed!
  • Get caught up on my email…again, I’ve let it slide a lot this month!

Health

  • Exercise at least three times a week.
  • Make smart choices with eating.

Family and Marriage

  • Enjoy my sister’s wedding in two weeks and help as much as I can with final details and setting up/taking down.
  • Celebrate my mom’s birthday, my youngest sister’s birthday, and father’s day.
  • Do a learning activity with Rhys every day–coloring, reading, shapes, numbers, songs, etc.
  • Play a game with Justin at least once a week.

Personal

  • No griping, no groaning, no moaning, no murmuring, no complaining, no whining, no backbiting, no sharpness, no fighting back, no being stubborn, no rudeness, no laziness, no feeling sorry for myself.
  • Create church youth class presidency binders and train myself as a youth leader in my church.

Wish me luck!
